KOUADIO Kouamé Georges
Côte D’Ivoire Ministry Of Environmental And Sustainable Development
KOUADIO Kouamé Georges is a lecturer in Atmospheric Chemistry at the École Normale Supérieure d’Abidjan from the Department of Science and Technology. He conducts research at the Laboratory of the Structure of Matter, Environment and Solar Energy at the Félix Houphouët Boigny University, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. He has worked in these institutions since 1992. He has developed skills and brought innovations in teaching and research on climate change and chemical pollution. Since 2012, he has joined the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development as General Director of Environment from 2012 to 2017 and as Project Coordinator from 2018 to date. He capitalized on these functions and varied experiences by implementing the environmental policy of his country in close connection with the National Development Plan.
He coordinated the development of strategies and action plans to respond to major environmental challenges such as climate change management of coastal zones, natural resources, chemicals and waste. Programs related to these challenges have been implemented under his supervision in connection with the respect of commitments made by Côte d’Ivoire in ratifying conventions and multilateral agreements on the environment and sustainable development. KOUADIO Georges has participated in several high-level meetings, at national, regional and international levels, such as the Conferences of the Parties on climate change, on chemicals and waste, the United Nations Environmental Assembly, the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment, and the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management. Since 2016, he has represented the Africa region group of the Strategic Approach to the International Management of Chemicals and Waste. KOUADIO Georges is married and has 2 children.
