Alena has over 15 years of experience in environmental monitoring, environmental assessments, GIS spatial analysis, mapping, environmental documentation, and risk assessment.
Alena used to manage a chemical analytical laboratory for monitoring air quality and industrial emissions, which provided her with practical experience with many environmental laboratory methods and instruments of environmental quality control.
For more than ten years, Alena has been working on various types of rapid environmental assessments of contaminated areas, including the development and use of protocols of FAO REA, Pure Earth/Blacksmith Toxic Site Identification Program (TSIP/GIP), and national standards.
Alena participated in environmental projects in Russia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Mongolia, Ghana, India, Indonesia and other countries funded by major international organizations (UNIDO, FAO, EU, USAID, GreenCross Switzerland, Pure Earth, etc.).
