Environmental Pollution Programme (EPP) in Vietnam

Funded with UK aid from the UK government, the Global Alliance on Health and Pollution (GAHP) is working with the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) and the Rainforest Alliance (RA) to protect the health of people and the environment from the unsafe agricultural practices of open burning and pesticide use. 

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. Develop a knowledge base on open burning and pesticide use and associated health and environmental impacts.
2. Research alternatives to open-burning practices and the use of pesticides.
3. Educate target groups about the health and environmental impacts of open-burning practices and pesticides.
4. Develop and promote policies to reduce the impacts of open-burning practices and pesticides.
5. Analyse the possibility of replicating project achievements in other countries.
